Today's generation,  the Agricultural industry made a very satisfactory progress in terms of producing first quality animals, which are well nourished and in a good state of health for processing into meat foods.

Sunpride Foods, Inc. (SFI)’s hog and cattle slaughterhouse is the first modern facility of its kind in Cebu. It was completed in 2013 and has been in operation since. The modernization ensures optimal slaughterhouse hygiene and higher meat recovery for SFI to serve the market with safe and clean  quality meat products.

Even prior to its modernization, SFI’s slaughterhouse has been given an “AAA” accreditation by the National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS). It has also received certifications for Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP).

“Sunpride’s motivation, as always, lies in its commitment to the people – to provide customers with the best slaughtering service in the industry and assure the Cebuano community that all implemented hygiene and sanitary standards are followed to the very detail,” said Don Hanley Wong, Marketing Head of SFI.

Located within SFI’s main meat processing plant and compound at S.E. Jayme St., Paknaan, Mandaue City, the 1,700-square meter slaughterhouse is equipped with state-of-the-art machines and equipment that can process 100 to 120 hogs per hour and 25 cattles per hour.  The high throughput translates to an equally high recovery rate of 82% for live hogs weighing 100 to 120 kilos.

The modernized facility involves process improvements that minimize pre-slaughter stress on the hogs and cattle to ensure quality meat.

Most importantly, SFI’s modern slaughterhouse boasts of improved hygiene and sanitation practices.  The animals processed through SFI’s facility are hoisted up a continuous motorized conveyor line rail system to keep them from touching the floor throughout the entire process. The slaughterhouse is equipped with cold storage rooms where carcasses are stored to maintain freshness.

To prevent meat contamination, the facility is also zoned into different sections. Each section has a designated personnel entry point, to minimize unnecessary personnel movement from one zone to another. Cleaning stations are further equipped with knee and foot actuated faucets, and workstations are strategically designed to facilitate good meat and personal hygiene practices.

Sunpride Slaughtering Services is open to companies and individuals having their own hog business. For inquiries or bookings, please call Ms. Alieda Argawanon at 3467805 local 130 or 132 | 0917 304 9695.

    Project Title: TAGUM CITY GARDEN

The concept of this project is to redesign and reconfigure the old Tagum Trade and cultural center. This building has been used for almost two decades now and this building clearly needs to be renovated at the same time to give a more sustainable impact.I designed this building in an environmental approach or the Biophilic Design Approach. The Design aims to create a good and productive venue for people living the area (which is at the center of the city) whom are not able to have gardens around them. This structure enables them to have vegetations at the comfort of their neighborhood as well as to the people who do not have enough food to eat every day. This is also to help people by giving them the venue and place to plant vegetables and also this will be able to help the surroundings have fresh air and cooler environment. ~ Karen Joy Robines

    Design Title: MARAHUYO DESIGN CAMP

Inspiring, Reviving, and Supporting Artistry with Interior Design through Attention Restoration Theory

Marahuyo meaning, to be enchanted and attracted, is a design camp that aims to offer a refreshing and enlightening experience for the artistic soul by nurturing creativity in a restorative environment. It seeks to establish emotional depth with connections that captivate and focus healthy attention for people by indulging with nature.

Located in Mabitac, Laguna, Philippines, the camp aims to develop the site into three phases, foreseeing an expansion for the hospitality industry. Laguna has always been known for its natural resources and recognized for its art and crafts industry. As time goes, Laguna became urbanized as being one of the provinces near Manila. The other industries continuously grow and develop in the major cities of Laguna, while the other side remains stagnant. The technological shift has also impeded appreciation for the art and crafts industry. Laguna is indeed rich in artistry but lacks in support, which Marahuyo intends to empathize with the community artisans. ~ Moira Kayla Ramiro

This year's theme reflects the emphathy of our young designers and architects within their community, culture,  and environment through their designs. Over the years, Nippon Paint's AYDA developed a sense of network together with design experts, industry  groups and top design schools and universities.

As what Mr. Michael Francisco said during the virtual conference,"We are hopeful that our efforts through AYDA will continue to encourage outstanding architecture and interior designer students to be a good influencers,  by building an environment of the future".

Nippon Paint has done a wonderful job in encouraging young people to be part of this momentum, wherein they can share their knowledge and talents in architecture and interior designing.  And it was an honour to be part of the entire process as AYDA 2021 Engagers/Influencers for the social media. As I see the whole process of this event, it's not a competition but a camaraderie of the participants as they were guided very well with the vision and mission of Nippon Paint AYDA. I conclude that AYDA become a great factor in supporting the young architecture and interior designers,  a good initiative that winners have the chance to go international - that's a great opportunity!

And lastly, looking with the other works of the students finalists, its not a failure, they've done a good job too! All are socially relevant with the theme, in fact they are all winners to me and they deserve an applause for their hard work.

Congratulations Nippon Paint AYDA Philippine Edition and Mabuhay to all the participants! DAGHANG SALAMAT.

I'm saying goodbye (and good riddance) to my 2021 Personalized Journal. And saying hello to my 2022.

It's probably fair to say that this has been one of the worst years in recent times. With the pandemic, we live, learn and create a sense-making narrative, shaping and reflecting cultural ideas and experiences. And by putting all that in a journal by writing it down your tasks, goals, and notes, it helps alleviate the most important thing in life — being grateful and bringing in good vibes only.

My Personalized Journal for this year is more on a lined page to write down my thoughts and record my daily activities and events.

While there are many apps available online that will help me organize my life, nothing beats the feeling of writing it down on pen and paper/notebook. As I say, I like to record my daily events in my life, make a note of how I feel after a meeting or date (just like a diary), wrote down the noteworthy things that happened during my day so that I can remember them and reflect on them.

I will also write my wins and celebration. The idea here is that whatever circumstances excites me, that gives me the feeling that I've won. Like clients approval and other event invitations, etc.

Of course, I have goals, so I will also write down my to-do list here. Making my own time frame to achieve my goals and how I'm going to approach it. Hmm... this sounds interesting and a challenge to me at the same time! Just think positive Jean 😜😍😘. Aja!

I love watching Korean drama. This journal will be the same with my 2021 Personalized Journal. I will write down all my KDrama that I will watch for this year, my favourite drama in one place planner, and I will also collect inspiring quotes from the drama, this is a good thing to do to keep me empowered.

Not to forget the REMINDER NOTE part, wherein I put my bill payments & collections. And my domain renewal too! 😁🤟

What I like about my 2022 Personalized Journal is that, even we are already in a digital world wherein cellphone and gadgets is the fastest mean of communication and we can dial and call people directly on our phone, this journal still have the old way of keeping the name and addresses of people to call to.

I'm going to write down a list of people that I want to have at least a half-hour phone conversation with, like my senior aunties and uncles who are not into gadget thingy. Keeping a promise and by giving them a call will also help me boosts my mood vice versa.

My Personalized Journal for this year is plain and simple. Writing a too detailed plan will only lead me to disappointment, so instead, I'm making a plan per month only, that includes things I really want and I always wanted to do and be. This will be my source to create a self-improvement guide for myself well-being and also for my work progression.

    Goodbye 2021. Hello 2022.

BUTTERFLY means not only beautiful,  but also a metaphor of representing spiritual rebirth, transformation,  change, hope & life.

Having a Virtual Christmas party is the perfect way to stay connected while apart. And yes, no more worrying about the bad weather, who's going to drive home, and nothing to worry with the so-called virus. All you need to do is to be present online!

Last December 12, a virtual Christmas Party was held, celebrating the 10th Year of the Annual Gathering of one of the best active blogger group in Facebook — the Filipino Bloggers Network, a Philippine-based community of Bloggers and Influencers in the country.

FBN currently has almost 2,000 members around the country and continues to expand as it provides a venue for Filipino bloggers to interact with other members even those based overseas. Moderating the discussions and posting opportunities for several brands with the supervision of co-admins Divine RC and Richard Mamuyac and Lariza Garcia.

The yearly event serves as a venue to reacquaint with fellow members around the country, celebrate the holiday season and create great new memories.

Just like last year, the gathering was conducted online and livestreamed within the official FBN group page. Aside from the exciting prizes given away during the games and raffle draws, a couple of members received financial assistance to support them in their family medical emergency. Indeed, it was both a fun-filled and meaningful day at the same time.

Different PR groups and brands and individual sponsors were acknowledged during the event for supporting the online community in 2021 and hopefully for more years to come.

This year’s virtual event sponsors are Pro-Solutions, Cebuana Llhuillier, Glorious Blend, Salgado PR, i55 Talent House, Rex Education, Gur Lavi Corporation (Telavi); CAT PR, Goodah!, Pacific Sunrise, M2.0 Communications, ROAR Agile, GPS TV, BIOCOCO, Rep. Eric Yap, Rep. Ronnie Ong, Rep. Mike Defensor, Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, and a number of generous FBN members.

With the great support and opportunities that FBN received this year from partners companies and brands, the group is looking forward to more campaigns and activities that members can join and engage with in the coming new year. Let us claim that 2022 will be a better year for all of us. Cheers for more success and blessings!
