It's my dream to be an architect, I love to draw buildings & houses that would appear modern and à la mode (fashion and up to date). It is, of course, easier said than done to merely say that I will be an architect in the future. But that dream has changed over the years, everyone has his or her goals in life. So, I have to look further at my passion in life and that is not to be an Architect, but still connected with houses - I become a Real Estate Agent (my second job after working at RCPI-Bayantel as Customer Service Representatives). The fact that I still have the love looking at the houses,  the design, the style,  that somewhat help me reinforce to embrace dearly my first love in architecture.

    AYDA 2021 THEME LAUNCH

July 22, 2021, AYDA 2021 launched its theme: "FORWARD AMPLIFYING EMPATHY THROUGH DESIGN".  Keep this in mind – PEOPLE, CULTURE, and  NATURE. This will guide you along the way in making your concept.

    PEOPLE

When we design, you need to examine data and family's income level and ask questions about residents from your area, not to forget household characteristics,  current and projected lifestyle, so that you can give a starting point for an in-depth analysis of specific design development. This data can be used to help broaden sustainable community in  understanding how it is changing, whether demographic or relevant data pertaining to population and household income, age, education levels referring to the house preference on what to design.

These will also focuses in occupational concentrations of your clients and ethnicity as well. Design influences the race and ethnicity, that measures the true preferences and behaviours of the community.

Home ownership directly correlates with the community.

    CULTURE

As I said previously, design also focus with race and ethnicity.  This cultural influence that tackles the CULTURE of one's norms and ideas in making your design.

Architecture reflects culture. Indeed, architects today has a task of designing for present and future of a diverse and quickly changing culture. If you design, you have to think not only for the present, but also in the future. Be futuristic indeed! You have to involved spaces and times that people who will use it. Don't just design for art's sake or sturdy or strong. You have to create environments where people will benefit in the coming years, creating a big picture between the relationship of architecture and culture.

    NATURE

To design is to build environment. This is where environmentally sustainable design happened, as far as we called it environmentally conscious design like eco design, etc or to comply with the principles of ecological sustainability.

There is a saying that "Your interior design reflects your culture as much as your environment".

So far, today we will see different buildings that most of it are already giving tribute to city's diverse natural and cultural environment. It's reconnecting people with nature, is a challenging architecture and urban design that are well placed to address. Architects and designers have control over in building environment; by changing the way design cities and buildings to connect to rather disconnect from nature. One of the problem that most architecture and designers are facing is the climate change. A crucial impact that challenge them because these environmental topic appears so distant in designing. How to nurture our environment,  we can harness places grounded in their work unique environment. This way, designers can revive an awareness of natural systems that affect both technical and natural, inventively finding ways to reconnect us with the touch and vibrant of nature wider biological community.

Over the years, like-minded young people have participated in ASIA YOUNG DESIGNERS AWARDS, giving their talent & initiative,  an opportunity to continue doing something that remains important for the rest of their professional lives. It may have been conducive to staying under the sheets, making drafts, designs, concept and ideas,  but to participate in a contest that will help them change and improve their value and showing their potential and possibilities to give impact to a better world. The choices are admittedly speculative, but our batting average has been exceptionally good in our endeavours. That they come out to be part of the award like this and reflects the values of "living at its finest".

If you have the skill & talent to be the next AYDA Winner? Check contest details here, AYDA 2021.

I was asked by a friend about how I become a Korean Drama or KDrama addict. It started in the year 2017, when a toxic relationship ended and I want myself to be busy aside from having an online job.

My first drama was "MY SECRET ROMANCE" and I fell in love with the drama so as with the two leading characters, starring Sung Hoon as Jin-wook and Song Ji-eun as Yoo-mi. A story of a nutritionist get entangled in series of misunderstanding with her new chaebol boss - who turns out to be someone she slept for a one night stand in the past.

It's so addicting, that I even stalk their IG account to see how their life outside their characters. Don't you find me so weird that when bashers comment I make sure I'll defend them. They create a thread of a beautiful love story which shouldn't happen or maybe it happened but in a different way. A mix of a sad & love story between a relationship with a mother and a daughter and life of the female lead after that "one night stand". The relationship with her boss that obviously she will fall for him and vice versa.

And I also watched "Faded to Love You", "Cinderella and the Four Knights", etc... anyway, all kdramas are good ending..hmmm..somehow the LOVE beats every nature law! Why I mention this – it's because this how kdramas would look more or less.

I've watched 100+ kdramas and I realized that all are basically similar. And even if it's the same you don't mind it, you keep on watching. They give you such emotional comfort and a bit of a fairy world and an imaginative boyfriend!

It's been 4 years now that I started my kdrama journey. Yes! Exactly this month of June that I'm hooked with this trend. Currently,  I'm watching now "The Penthouse Season 3", "Miss Monte-Cristo", "Zombie Detective", "Doom at Your Service", "Mad For Each Other", "My Roommate Is Gumiho". Just finish watching "So, I Married An Anti-Fan", "Sell Your Haunted House", "Youth of May", etc...

I'm a CERTIFIED KOREAN DRAMA ADDICT! 🤣😂😘 Though I get more and watch more interesting things online, but my love about Korean Drama will never be erase in my system.  Especially,  it's pandemic and most of my time are in my personal computer or mobile because of my VA work (if not busy, I watch kdrama). I also watch other videos in YouTube and TikTok, but my obsession of kdramas are still there 😁.

Yes, I have still my Career Life aside from being obsessed with the kdramas. And to be honest,  Korean Drama are way too addictive! I can't stop it 🤣😂😘

Are you also a Korean Drama Addict or Obsessed with Korean Dramas? Let me know, comment down 👎 below.

In its effort to create a stronger community by promoting stronger immunity,  Organique Inc. virtually launched its #ImmunoStrongPH campaign with leading content creator and cancer survivor Wil Dasovich as a fitting ambassador.

The virtual presser highlighted health as the top of mind concern among the millions of Filipinos today as the country continues to grapple with the COVID-19 pandemic and as the whole nation moves toward recovery.

Aside from Dasovich, also present to discuss the important relationship between immunity and lasting health were Organique, Inc. CEO and President Catherine Salimbangon; DOH Director IV of the Health Promotion Bureau Dr. Beverly Lorraine Ho; and featured COVID-19 survivor Lawrence Lee and hypertension survivor Marielle Vergara.

    Stronger immunity, stronger community

According to Salimbangon, “Health is wealth, which is why we are promoting a deeper level of care for Filipino families and medical frontliners by advocating a conscious effort towards holistic health and overall wellness. Everyone, especially those at risk or are continually exposed to health hazards, can live their lives to the fullest with their loved ones for a long time.”

The #ImmunoStrongPH national awareness campaign was designed to generate awareness on the multitude of ways that Filipinos can protect themselves and their communities by strengthening their immune system. Chief of this is a healthy lifestyle, supported by clean eating and complemented by natural and organic superfoods such as the Organique Acai line of premium nutritional supplements. Being immunostrong can help Filipinos prevent the onset of diseases.

In support of DOH’s BIDA+ Solusyon

A collaboration between the private and public sectors, the #ImmunoStrongPH campaign complements the BIDA+ Solusyon campaign guidelines set by the DOH, which calls on the public to strictly adhere to health and safety protocols to prevent the continuous spread of COVID-19.

Dr. Ho said, “Practicing minimum public health standards is another layer of immunity. We request everyone to perform the BIDA+ Solusyon by wearing face masks, washing hands, sanitizing frequently, and practicing social distancing.” She also stressed the importance of investing in one’s health, saying, “The body remembers assaults done to it, and assaults can come in the form of bad food, smoking, lack of exercise. Bodies are vessels of investment.”

The #ImmunoStrongPH campaign also pays tribute to the country’s medical frontliners and community health workers for their dedication and hard work in protecting the Filipino people from illnesses.

    Overcoming cancer and other illnesses

During the virtual launch, Dasovich narrated his experience as a colon cancer survivor at the tender age of 25 and how he was able to overcome it in a year’s time. He also spoke about the importance of keeping the immune system strong to be able to fight off diseases and recover quickly from them.

“I am so driven to make a difference in how people approach their health and wellness through my own personal cancer survival story,” Dasovich shared. “I cannot overstate the importance of being mindful of one’s physical health by staying fit, exercising regularly, and eating the right kinds of food for the nourishment of your body, especially in this day and age when we are exposed to many allergens and bacteria on a daily basis.“

“Throughout my journey as a cancer survivor, I’ve always believed in the power of taking antioxidants and ingesting super foods like Acai berries. The top Organique products like Acai freeze-dried capsules and Acai premium blend don’t only help you become healthier and live longer, but they also taste amazingly good,” Dasovich added.

A campaign for the public good

His sentiments were echoed by COVID-19 survivor Lee and hypertension survivor Vergara, who shared their thoughts about the importance of having a strong immune system especially during a pandemic.

“Life begins at 60. At my age when I have about 10 years more, I can still accomplish more and I want to live with strength, stamina, and energy. Organique has been helping me through the years. You cannot take care of others without taking care of yourself,” Vergara said.

This was magnified by Lee who said, “Iisa lang ang buhay natin. Mas kampante ka kung alam mong mas healthy ka. Paano ako mag-p-provide sa family ko kung hindi ako healthy. Physically, tayo nag-suffer pero mentally, family natin ang nag-suffer.”

Salimbangon concluded the virtual event by saying, “We take care of our health, so that we can also take care of the health of those we love. #ImmunoStrongPH is about protecting the community through immunity. We are also strengthening our commitment as a health and wellness partner of the DOH by spreading awareness via our brand ambassador, Mr. Dasovich, and through our continued distribution of IMMUNOCARE KITS.”

I started my first job with JobStreet and I am very happy to hear the news that they're going hyperlocal starting this year.

During the Press Launch it was divulged to us that JobStreet will not focus in Luzon but throughout the Philippine provinces: DAVAO, CEBU & ILOILO.

    LAUNCH MICROSITES

Living up to its commitment to provide jobs that matter across the country, leading online job portal JobStreet is going hyperlocal as it launches its dedicated microsite for Cebu, Iloilo, and Davao as well as its upcoming virtual career fair with the selected Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Regional Offices in time for the upcoming Labor Day.

The initiatives also help boost the job market in provinces as the public is encouraged to decongest Metro Manila following the on-going pandemic.

Jobseekers from Cebu, Iloilo, and Davao can now browse thousands of jobs available in their locality through the respective microsites. Candidates can also learn from work-life guides and advice from JobStreet’s career hub which will be written in their local dialect.

“Many Filipinos recently returned to their provinces because of layoffs or the new work from home arrangements and this caused a shift in the labor market. We’ve also observed that candidates from major provinces have increased their activities in terms of platform website visits, which is why we really targeted to promote local employment and provide them valuable support in their career through their own dialect,” said JobStreet Philippines Country Manager Philip Gioca.

    Hyperlocal microsites

The microsite for Cebu offers opportunities from the top industries namely Call Center/IT-Enabled Services/BPO (12.5%), Manufacturing/Production (7.6%), Healthcare/ Medical (6.5%), Education (5.5%), and Construction/Building/Engineering (5.2%). The average salary reported in Cebu is Php 31,487.
Candidates from Davao can apply for jobs with an average salary of Php 28,500 as top industries continue hiring such as Call Center/IT-Enabled Services/BPO (8.7%), Healthcare/Medical (7.8%), Education (7.2%), Food & Beverage/Catering/Restaurant (5.6%), and Retail/Merchandise (5.3%).

Meanwhile, thousands of jobs are also found in Iloilo microsite with an average salary of Php 27,370. Top industries include Healthcare/Medical (13.6%), Call Center/IT-Enabled Services/BPO (9.2%), Education (8.3%), Construction/Building/Engineering (5.6%), and Food & Beverage/Catering/Restaurant (5.3%).

As of 2021, JobStreet earned a 13% growth in average platform visits from Cebu, 56% from Davao, and 44% in Iloilo. Moreover, hirers from the said provinces are gradually picking up. Based on JobStreet Database as of March 2021, job offerings based in Central Visayas grew by 9% from a sharp decline in 2020. Western Visayas recently jumped to 44% increase in job openings, while Davao Region is also recovering with 26% job postings this year. Ensuring that the initiative will be advantageous for both local hirers and candidates, JobStreet is also establishing a local team in each province to accommodate queries.

    JOBSTREET VIRTUAL CAREER FAIR

    Labor Day Virtual Career Fair

JobStreet continues to support the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in providing livelihood among Filipinos during this period. Following the success of the recent Virtual Career Fair, JobStreet partners with selected DOLE regions to launch another Virtual Career Fair on May 1 to 3.

Over 100 companies from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao have participated in the upcoming Virtual Career Fair, offering thousands of jobs nationwide. Candidates from different regions will also have a chance to experience engaging features such as live chats, on-the-spot interviews with HR representatives, and companies’ virtual booths. In addition, DOLE Regional Offices will accommodate concerns and questions from candidates via chat in the platform.

Jobseekers can join the online raffle as JobStreet goes live on its official Facebook Page on the first day of the Virtual Career Fair on May 1 at 5:00PM.

“We appreciate DOLE and the participating regions for trusting to partner with JobStreet in this initiative. We’re hoping that the Virtual Career Fair would be able to reach out to more jobseekers across the country who are looking for opportunities at this time,” shared Gioca.

The Virtual Career Fair is now open for pre-registration through http://bit.ly/JobStreetDOLEVCF.
