I am so grateful to be part of this event, the 1st National Information Convention held here in Davao City.

It really helps me in my personal growth and evolution, and it has helped me in so many ways, to enjoy life, my job and I am able to express my thoughts and improve by knowing the information dissemination mechanisms of different media and having an efficient information dissemination plan for disaster pre-warning. Furthermore, governments can make scientific and correct decisions to transmit information, based on different criteria such as information source and services.

I was really thinking it would start early, with Monday the 19th being my latest estimate, especially this is a government event.  Maybe it's just me because I am used to wake up early when I have a schedule for morning session. It can be frustrating, but that's life!

Well, it's never too late to innovate while waiting for the program to start. I open my phablet since the event was sponsored by PLDT and we have free access of Wi-Fi inside SMX Convention Center. I started to search and read NEWS and viola! I happened to read many information, but I don't know if it is TRUE or FAKE NEWS.

Getting too much information it's like everything's building up inside your head. Like your brain is crowded with questions and about to explode. And you will try to filter it all, but there's too much and reading or saying anything is too hard, especially if its not true!

Thank you so much Presidential Communication Operations Office and Philippine Information Agency for initiating this convention for us - social media influencers, media practitioners, students, NGO and LGU.

Topic: E-Power Mo: Communicating Energy Efficiency and Conservation
Relay only accurate and reliable information to the public, especially on how to conserve energy.
E-POWER MO is divided into three sections:
    1. E-SAFETY MO - involves safety energy efficiency
    2. E-SECURE MO - emphasizes delivery of quality, reliable and affordable energy services.
    3. E-DISKARTE MO - underscores the consumer's power of choice.
This is to help consumers intelligently manage energy use.
Mr. Fuentebella  said during the National Information Convention that, they need to inform the public on the "E-Power Mo" concept for the country's quest to global competition.

"The power of information can help consumers cut necessary costs, while industry players are bound to compete more effectively" he added.
Topic: Federalism: The Cornerstone of the Agenda of Change
    ONE NATION, MULTI-LEVEL GOVERNMENT:
    BETTER GOVERNANCE UNDER FEDERALISM
Prime objective of the said topic of DILG ASEC. Malaya is to influence public opinion and build voter trust towards a decisive Yes vote for federalism. And that is to positively shape public opinion through better social media and mainstream media.
In this graph, it shows the Share to Gross Domestic Product is mostly taken by the NCR. Where do our taxes go?

Indeed, it goes to the National Capital Region. That is why we need for a structural change, if we do not change structures, the rich regions only become richer and the poor regions, much poorer.
FEDERALISM AS SOLUTION TO AGE-OLD PROBLEMS

➢ Federalism is the practical solution to age-old
problems of poverty, inequality and instability

➢ For a diverse and multi-cultural country such as
ours, Federalism provides a system where
national unity is maintained while protecting the
    diversity of our society
    OBJECTIVES OF PHILIPPINE FEDERALISM

➢ Activate the Regions’ participation in national
    decision making
➢ Accelerate the economic development of the
    regions
    ➢ Achieve “Peace in Mindanao”
➢ Allow the preservation of the culture and
language of the various ethno-linguistic groups

Topic: Public Diplomacy in Government Communication
Do you understand Duterte's Administration? Do you know that President Duterte is a great story-teller? And do you know that all of us are good story-tellers too, including those in the government itself.

These are the opening questions DFA-USEC Abella ask the #NIC2018 participants.
PRRD as the new story-teller, many people resisted him and a number continue to do so. They do not like his language, his actions and doubt his intentions. Many in the campaign then are not in government now. Many in government now were not in the campaign then. There are those in government who voted for other candidates. There is therefore a challenge in terms of messaging:
    inner resistance

But if we are to help the nation progress, we need to understand his ethos in order
to embrace his vision and support him.

Why are some of the people cannot understand PRRD? Is there a language barrier? How we can understand PRRD?

On the Duterte style of communication...
“Go beyond my words, and look at my back. See the Filipino bent in suffering.”

“I decided to run for the presidency because no one was addressing the problem of Mindanao (historic social injustice of the Muslims); Corruption in Government, crime and Illegal Drugs; and the widening gap between the rich and the poor.”

“I have built a city, I am building a country”

”A nation worthy of Filipinos, Filipinos worthy of the nation”

PRRD is building a nation. And so are we.

    So what is OUR Story?

We tell the same story, to inspire our fellow citizens and the nations of the world to support our aspiration

    COMFORTABLE LIFE FOR ALL FILIPINOS

    -Everyone thrives
-There is law & order in everyday life
    -Everybody lives in peaceful co-existence

Luck had me when I won P1000 from PayMaya at the SMART Media Christmas Party.

I normally pay bills over the counter and honestly I hate falling inline and wait for my queue number to be called. I have no choice but to lived in this world that you have to wait patiently, but what makes me angry that some point in your life-if not many-someone has to cut in the line and make you wait longer! I hate line cutters, well some with good reasons and others without, but generally infuriating all the same.

It wasn't easy to pay bills from one place to another. I really have difficulty in these paper bills transactions, I have to stick because I always do this kind of routine "nakasanayan na". But these time I managed to create my own shortcuts in paying, thanks in large part to my PayMaya Visa app and card.

The PayMaya app which comes with a Visa card is a prepaid digital payment solution created by PayMaya Philippines, Inc. - the only digital financial unit of PLDT and SMART Communications, Inc.

Even before I've used different kinds of credit cards and prepaid debit/credit cards for paying my bills online, but I stop because of the Phishing incident happened with other banks. Now, I have my BIG TRUST with PayMaya considering that their card is already EMV - a global standard for cards equipped with computer chips and technology used to authenticate chip-card transactions. For us card users this is the biggest benefit we can get having an EMV cards - reduction in card fraud.  The only difference about PayMaya with other credit cards is that, you need to have money in your PayMaya account to pay for your purchases and not a rack up credit. (How to load PayMaya)

PayMaya Visa app solved my problem over how to pay for our Abreeza Cinema tickets at sureseats.com. It was a quick plan that we want to watch a movie and we don't have time to go to the cinema and make a reservation. So I decided to make a reservation online and pay it via PayMaya app.

My PayMaya app gave me a real-time tally of my complete and approved transactions, its like that you have a card that keep you on track of your purchases. And one good thing about using PayMaya was that it gives you a conversation on how much is your remaining balance. I also received a notification via SMS every time I make a purchase or I received money since my PayMaya account is tied with my mobile number.

I was amaze with my ticket reservation because it was easy and very fast transaction.

Living in a life immersed in technology has become part of the culture.,no longer will people wait hours, let alone days, for a responses from clients or customers. Boring music is boring indeed, even if you wrapped it with attractive cover. Such thought that if you go to a music hall once or twice, it doesn't entice new listener to appreciate to such music and to come back to listen and become a music lover for a long term.

It is so hard to please Millennials, they are more open and more authentic than the previous generations. They seek for AUTHENTICITY in everything they deal with, whether it is food, fashion, games and/or with their music genre in particular.

What I love with Gabrielle Gross music is not how to sell her music, but how she play it for the betterment of her passion.

The act of improving herself is the key to have a successful career.

Gabrielle Gross with her parents Chad Borja and Emy Gross

Her name sounds like she's a foreigner; her looks can make you think she's international act on vacation in the Philippines. But honestly, Gabrielle Gross is a daughter of Emy Gross (a Davaoeña) and singer-composer Chad Borja, very much a Filipina in the strictest sense of the world. Blessed with a professional singer's bloodline, beams with true grit and charm that will urge you to listen to her voice over and over.

I want to be known for the things I do and for who I am. ~ Gabrielle Gross

She wanted to make a name of her own and not be compared with her father's professional singing background.

On that note, Ivory Music one of the biggest independent record companies in the Philippines has signed her in and launched the brand music and star aura she has into the mainstream. Manage by Studio 1 Artists Management & Events Corporation, Gabrielle Gross released her debut digital single that she herself wrote called "A Song Inspired By You".

SECRET the second single composed by Jimmy Bondoc together with American composer Judy Klass, talks about voicing out being one's self while trying to fit in. Well, this kind of song really apply with the "HUGOT" lines with millennials.

Her sounds and echoes is more matured that she owes it to her influences like Tori Kelly, Pentatonix, Michael Jackson, Beyonce, Indie Arie, Allen Stone, Kehlani, Clean Bandit, Jess Glynne, and Ariana Grande. It's a complex bunch that goes to show her depth as a music talent.

For a sixteen years old girl who delivers her take of sweet, laid back music that seamlessly fuses pop, acoustic, R&B and jazz that only few of her age can truly pull off,  this is a great challenge for Gabrielle Gross on how she can deliver her SECRET to the public. How they would love and like it...how they will embrace the type of music that she have.

    My Say:

Now, don't get me wrong, I listen to various kinds of music. But rock is like popular music's home base. Everyone, even those who aren't rock fans, know at least one rock song. And majority of the genres no doubt have their origins in some form of rock. Plus, it's flexible! So many sub genres of rock exists, as well as fusion genres to suit any mood. While, like I said before, I listen to different kinds of music, my early years were heavily shaped by influential artists inclined with my parents musical interests. The Carpenters in particular is like home to me - though soft rock, easy listening, and adult contemporary music genre ( and I say that it greatly influences me in so many ways in my growing years).

And I am glad to hear the music of Gabrielle Gross. I didn't expect that at her age she can deliver such music that takes the most skill and deliver it with creativity. A lot of her age don't accept this genre of music yet because it is so different from everything else. But that's what MUSIC all about, so I think time will come that it will grow in popularity, they will embrace the kind of music Gabrielle had --- cool styles, such as chill, more relaxing and quiet, and more meaningful!
