I was really thinking it would start early, with Monday the 19th being my latest estimate, especially this is a government event. Maybe it's just me because I am used to wake up early when I have a schedule for morning session. It can be frustrating, but that's life!
Well, it's never too late to innovate while waiting for the program to start. I open my phablet since the event was sponsored by PLDT and we have free access of Wi-Fi inside SMX Convention Center. I started to search and read NEWS and viola! I happened to read many information, but I don't know if it is TRUE or FAKE NEWS.
Getting too much information it's like everything's building up inside your head. Like your brain is crowded with questions and about to explode. And you will try to filter it all, but there's too much and reading or saying anything is too hard, especially if its not true!
Thank you so much Presidential Communication Operations Office and Philippine Information Agency for initiating this convention for us - social media influencers, media practitioners, students, NGO and LGU.

Topic: E-Power Mo: Communicating Energy Efficiency and Conservation
Relay only accurate and reliable information to the public, especially on how to conserve energy.
E-POWER MO is divided into three sections:
- E-SAFETY MO - involves safety energy efficiency
- E-SECURE MO - emphasizes delivery of quality, reliable and affordable energy services.
- E-DISKARTE MO - underscores the consumer's power of choice.
Mr. Fuentebella said during the National Information Convention that, they need to inform the public on the "E-Power Mo" concept for the country's quest to global competition.
"The power of information can help consumers cut necessary costs, while industry players are bound to compete more effectively" he added.
Topic: Federalism: The Cornerstone of the Agenda of Change
ONE NATION, MULTI-LEVEL GOVERNMENT:
BETTER GOVERNANCE UNDER FEDERALISM
BETTER GOVERNANCE UNDER FEDERALISM
Prime objective of the said topic of DILG ASEC. Malaya is to influence public opinion and build voter trust towards a decisive Yes vote for federalism. And that is to positively shape public opinion through better social media and mainstream media.
In this graph, it shows the Share to Gross Domestic Product is mostly taken by the NCR. Where do our taxes go?
Indeed, it goes to the National Capital Region. That is why we need for a structural change, if we do not change structures, the rich regions only become richer and the poor regions, much poorer.
FEDERALISM AS SOLUTION TO AGE-OLD PROBLEMS
➢ Federalism is the practical solution to age-old
problems of poverty, inequality and instability
➢ For a diverse and multi-cultural country such as
ours, Federalism provides a system where
national unity is maintained while protecting the
diversity of our society

OBJECTIVES OF PHILIPPINE FEDERALISM
➢ Activate the Regions’ participation in national
decision making
➢ Accelerate the economic development of the
regions
➢ Achieve “Peace in Mindanao”
➢ Allow the preservation of the culture and
language of the various ethno-linguistic groups
Topic: Public Diplomacy in Government Communication
Do you understand Duterte's Administration? Do you know that President Duterte is a great story-teller? And do you know that all of us are good story-tellers too, including those in the government itself.
These are the opening questions DFA-USEC Abella ask the #NIC2018 participants.
PRRD as the new story-teller, many people resisted him and a number continue to do so. They do not like his language, his actions and doubt his intentions. Many in the campaign then are not in government now. Many in government now were not in the campaign then. There are those in government who voted for other candidates. There is therefore a challenge in terms of messaging:
inner resistance
But if we are to help the nation progress, we need to understand his ethos in order
to embrace his vision and support him.
Why are some of the people cannot understand PRRD? Is there a language barrier? How we can understand PRRD?
On the Duterte style of communication...
PRRD is building a nation. And so are we.
“Go beyond my words, and look at my back. See the Filipino bent in suffering.”
“I decided to run for the presidency because no one was addressing the problem of Mindanao (historic social injustice of the Muslims); Corruption in Government, crime and Illegal Drugs; and the widening gap between the rich and the poor.”
“I have built a city, I am building a country”
”A nation worthy of Filipinos, Filipinos worthy of the nation”
PRRD is building a nation. And so are we.
So what is OUR Story?
We tell the same story, to inspire our fellow citizens and the nations of the world to support our aspiration
COMFORTABLE LIFE FOR ALL FILIPINOS
-Everyone thrives
-There is law & order in everyday life
-Everybody lives in peaceful co-existence
