StartUpPH Mediacon in Davao

I was given the opportunity to go to GMA Mediacon along with the cast of StartUpPH, starring Alden Richards, Bea Alonzo, Jeric Gonzales, and Yasmien Kurdi. The event took place at 1953 Kusina Leticia.

They are in Davao to complete their final leg of promoting StartUpPH to GMA Regional TV and to express their gratitude to Kapuso fans for their support.

Following the mediacon, the cast made their way to the GMA Regional TV station for a courtesy visit, while a BIZTALK took place on the regional TV program At Home With GMA, hosted by Jandii Esteban.

Many times, I've had the opportunity to speak with Alden Richards, and this year, I was taken aback by his responses. He is, without a doubt, a grown adult, and judging from the manner in which he responded to questions posed by the media, we can deduce that he has gained a great deal of wisdom from the experiences he has had, both in his personal life and in the course of his career as an actor.

I would like to offer my congratulations to Alden Richards on his selection as the "Entertainer of the Year" by Esquire Philippines and to wish him a happy 12th anniversary in the entertainment industry. You are so fortunate to have had as many years as you have spent working in the entertainment industry to cultivate a positive reputation among all of the younger people and the generations to come.

Jeric Gonzales and Alden came to Davao to promote StartUpPH during the Kadayawan 2022 event. That was the first time I had the pleasure of meeting Jeric Gonzales; and today is the second time I had the opportunity to do so. And considering the length of time involved, I found it incredible to see how far he had come as an actor. Acquiring four Best Actor awards for his performance in the independent film BROKEN BLOOMS at four of the most prestigious film festivals in the world—the Harlem International Film Festival in New York, the Mokkho and Tagore International Film Festivals in India, and most recently the Montellupo Fiorentino International Film Festival in Italy—is an accomplishment that simply cannot be ignored. Congratulations Jeric!

StartUpPH is Bea Alonzo's first show for GMA, and she played an iconic character in the show that viewers can connect with. I inquired as to whether or not she felt pressure from the people she worked with at GMA, and she responded in the affirmative. (The following video will explain the reasons why she felt pressured.)

Yasmien Kurdi is a fellow addict of Korean dramas, just like me, and plays the part of Katrina, the older sister of Bea Alonzo who is also a passionate CEO. She proclaimed that she enjoyed watching Kdramas, and during the pandemic she used her free time to watch the Korean drama titled Start-Up. She also mentioned that being a part of a Korean adaptation is on her bucket list. And to make a long story short, the opportunity to work on the project of her dreams presented itself just as she was wrapping up the prior commitment she had.

It was my first time meeting Yasmien and Bea, and I'm delighted to finally meet them in person.

The StartUpPH casts, having finished their meeting with the Davao Media and Content Creators, head to the Abreeza Ayala Mall to put on their mall show.

Watch StartUpPH aired from Monday-Friday at GMA Network. The series is set to conclude on December 23, 2022 with a total of 65 episodes. Kaya watch napo mga Kapuso!

Thanks again GMA Network and GMA Regional TV for inviting me (again), till next time mga #Kapuso!
