Just the perfect thing to have a grand staycation in a vintage house transformed into a luxury B&B featuring a picturesque ambiance and a modern youthful architectural design still with a touch of heritage.

A 1950 ancestral home of the Geraldizo is a perfect place to have a grand staycation after transformed into a luxurious B&B.

“We thought of a name that best describes the overall mood of Molave, its fertile grounds ripe for progress. We want something organic to a valley, not too modern for a town setting. Something that would represent a strong spirit to thrive, grow and stand out,” ~Gary Dujali.

Gary Dujali, a second generation Geraldizo, and the youngest son of Eulalia Dujali. She is the eldest daughter of Hospicio Geraldizo, who is the matriarch of the family who inherited this ancestral home.

They spend time and money by refurbishing their ancestral home into a glamorous suite. The logo was created by Anjo Philip Dujali Quinalayo, a nephew of Gary and the family's multimedia arts graduate of Benilde. Together with his nephew, they both took in all the inspired ideas from their trips, looked over condo designs, put it together and applied meticulously to Vine Molave. They wanted to make sure that the place will boast of modern amenities that will respond to the basic needs, and “not just for mere showing off.”

    The Logo
Depicts that of a vine which stands out for its stark simplicity, elements, and focus.

The vintage house, named VINE MOLAVE, has kept some of its original pieces from the house, that includes the roots of origin coming from the valley and it manifest strong homely feeling to the residents who may not be aware of the family legacy of Molave.

    VINE MOLAVE

Vine Molave opened it's door to the public this year as cafe, resto+bar, and a bed & breakfast in one spacious location.

However, Vine Molave sits on the second and third floor with 11 rooms, individually prepared in distinct style and character, and making you feel that you are just in the comforts of your home.

It has a full bed and breakfast amenities include an access to mini jacuzzi pool which exudes privacy in a stylish setting.

***The introductory rate starts reasonably at P1,888 with free hearty breakfast for two, and a creatively crafted countryside menu set that whets the appetite.

The renovated house situated within a sleepy town of Molave right in the heart of Salug Valley. With agriculture as as predominant source of business, considered as one of the most progressive towns and classified as a first class municipality of Zamboanga del Sur.

I just love the bucolic stylish lodge that emerge as a new home stay to experience very laid-back relaxing suite. They have managed to create a family-like ambiance place, which along with excellent food and entertainment.

    VINE CAFE

This is what I like to find when you're venturing outside as tourist in another city, the feeling that you are quite at home.

Vine Cafe is a charming and delightful little gem which opened the earliest of May 2016 while the building is still under constructions.

The menu was well stocked with heirloom recipes proudly passed on from generations.

Baristas were trained and supervised by a Manila team.
Expect hot coffee mixes, exclusive frappe drinks and café specialty dishes of pasta and sandwiches which tickles the palate.

I love Vine Cafe, the freshly baked pies and pasties deliciously good. Also a nice coffee and good selection of cakes and pastries. All are my favorite. Very traditional version cup of fresh coffee but with a modern twist of what millennials would surely loved!

    VINE RESTO+BAR

Resto+Bar of Vine Molave is situated at the back of Vine Cafe. There is no reason for you to pass by it, because it's totally worth the detour from where you are going to stop in for a meal.

The food is classified from the heirloom recipes coupled with a fusion of Japanese dishes, pasta specials, and Filipino favorites like Kare-kare.

I'd call it primarily a food with other influences.

Their wine list is very respectable and the desserts are amazing.

The food, atmosphere, service was great. We are in a group and no one think negative about the ambiance.

The staff are very attentive and everyone loved the meal.

And in the evening of Fridays and Saturdays, it transforms from a homey resto-bar spot into a cozy party place, after the dinner there is a live acoustic bands that featured
Top Manila DJs to liven up the evening.

BTW, Vine Molave caters events and entertainment for your memorable parties, the likes of birthdays, engagement, family reunions, prenup pictorials and the weddings that follow.

This is a nice place to stay if you want to relax and bond with your friends and families.

It has a good location and not much of traffic noise.

It was reasonable priced and overall definitely worth a stay!

Book now and experience your grand staycation at VINE MOLAVE!

It's summer and it's hot! And it's finally time to beat or take advantage of the heat.

I started the month of March with different adventures, from island hopping at Samal to Davao Oriental escapade. And now, an invitation to #TeamDDI to have another excursion to a place called Tagaytay of Davao.

A private rest house located between Bukidnon-Davao(BuDa) is finally opened to public called the, "Eagle's Ridge Rest House".

I've been to BuDa 6 years ago with my youngest daughter and ASD Batchmates. Whew! that's quite a long time ago! (Read here: BUDA). Visiting BuDa again was so amazing, travelling with another group, my team from the Davao Digital Influencers.

We have 2 private cars waiting for us at McDonald Bajada, a van and a pick-up. We traveled 1hr and 45 mins from downtown Davao to Eagle's Ridge or even less if you have your own car or if you're travelling not on the rush hour. I ride on a pick-up, it was cold but I didn't realize that would be even colder and windier as soon as we arrive at the Eagle's Ridge proper. Good thing our friend @everydayemjay created an ultimate packing list for us to bring with, number one on the list is to bring sweater, jacket or hooded jacket to stay warm.

The sun is still up when we arrived, but the coldness of the place is not anymore bearable. As soon as the sun is setting down though we still manage to feel relax and not to bare the chilly day as we capture the breathtaking view of Mount Arayat.

    Thanks @everydayemjay

A private house owned by the Cunanan Family, now open to public.

I really liked the layout of this house, it can accommodate 10 or more people.

    Front Veranda

    Living Room

    Videoke Room/Bar
    Sun Porch

    The Room

    Main Kitchen

The Common Bathrooms and Comfort rooms going to the dirty kitchen and porch,
they also have a bathroom and a CR near the main kitchen.

In the evening, after our sumptuous home-made dinner prepared by the Cunanan family we went directly to our room and get some rest maybe because of the weather that we love to cling to our bed with pillows and blanket, but because there was hardly accessible mobile internet for us an interesting group activity helped us all members to retrospect individually and gain insights into each others ideas and characteristics by sharing our views with topics/events we've encountered in the past period of time, while having our BONFIRE!

Gazing into a clear night skies, we then open a bottle of wine while the chilly winds blow pasts our senses. We enjoyed our conversation with fun and laughter and then retired to bed.

A new morning came and deciding to scale things up. I woke up at 6 in the morning and take an early bath. Then had our breakfast and prepare for another activity - The Trekking.

We started our walk at the back of the Eagle's Ridge property.

We are all ready with our sticks, water, sandwiches and banana and headed to unusual sifting of our daily routine, climbing a sufficiently hills across a dense of forest and sparse habitation, we finally reached our place --- to be on top of the mountain and that conclude our 25-30 minutes trekking!

Wait! It doesn't stop there, we returned through another hilly climb, walking and walking until we stop over at a small stream flowing fast - then see the magnificent Jordan Waterfalls (another beautiful falls aside from the famous EPOL Falls).

We stop for awhile here and pay P10 each for the maintenance of the falls. It's a private land, owned by a certain name Jordan (this is how the falls got its name). BTW, the owner is planning to make this place an eco-resort for the hikers/trekkers and tourists as well.

There is already a "Bahay Kubo" made by the care taker
and we stayed here for about an hour.

According to the care taker, the owner is not yet done with the planning, but sooner this place will be another venue aside from the Epol Falls.

I never missed the day without getting myself wet, so I take off my shoes and socks and cooled my feet walking to the stone to post and take the opportunity to take picture with the falls as my background.

After that we go back trekking again, climb the hill all the way to the rest house. And that concluded our trekking for 2 hours and 25 minutes all in all.

After returning, we took rest while others find sometime to refresh while waiting for our lunch to be served.

MommyLa (the owner) never fails to amaze us with her cooking. And for our merienda we have binignit cook by MommyLa assistant Manang Gingging.

We returned back to the city proper and make a wonderful bonding experience with my #TeamDDI. To summed up, we enjoyed simple things that helped us re-energize our senses. From a simple joke and game to conversations at dinner and lunch time to appreciating nature by trekking to its purest form to spending time taking picture for documents and a blissful time to bond with the Cunanan family especially the kids; it's difficult to be indulging this kind of rapport with people or group that will understand simple pleasures of life every day.

We returned home with new outlook in life, newer stories to tell (from mountains to falls) and newer lovely private rest house now open to public - the Eagle's Ridge Rest House!

    MAPPING DAVAO ORIENTAL

It's a long trip and this means a daunting task. Not my first time travel, but still I'm easy to get overwhelmed---well, that's me!  ;);)   I've planned countless trips for myself before together with my family and friends, and over the years I've developed an efficient checklist to ensures I don't miss anything important. My greatest fear is that, I don't want to get to my destination and realize I forget something.

I've decided to pack with me the essentials in my backpack. My clothes good for 2 days trip (March 10 and 11, 2017), my 2 mobile cameras, 2 power banks, sanitary napkins(you know girl thingy), wet wipes and sunblock lotion(it's summer, better have one for sun protection!) and a journal to write my experiences throughout the journey.

    Day 1

Take Tionko Ave, Circumferential Rd and Bacaca Road to Davao City Diversion Rd/Pan-Philippine Hwy/AH26 follow Follow Pan-Philippine Hwy/AH26 and Surigao - Davao Coastal Rd to Banaybanay

From Marco Polo, Davao City (our meeting place) to Cafe Pintatagan, Banaybanay, Davao Oriental is 2 hrs and 4 mins (92.6 kms) travel. We have our breakfast stop at Cafe Pintatagan together with the chosen media, Manila Bloggers, Davao Digital Influencers and VDFS staff.

We've stayed for awhile waiting for the police to escort us going to Mati City, Davao Oriental. Had a brief discussion of our Davao Oriental itinerary by the Davao Oriental Tourism Officer.

A land formation that looks exactly like a submerged dinosaur sleeping on its belly.

As our police escort arrives, travel continues and have our second stop at one of the famous attractions in Davao Oriental the "Sleeping Dinosaur" located along Badas Point in Barangay Dawan. The trip takes as for about 1hr and 3mins (58.5 km).

A minute of taking selfies and group photos.

We had our courtesy call at the City Hall of Mati and we are welcomed by Mr. Ednar Gempesaw Dayanghirang, City Executive Assistant of the City Mayor Hon. Nelson L. Dayanghirang.

Almost lunch time and all the excitement got us hungry, we have our break at Menzi Beach Park and Campsite, Dahican.

It's a good place to have fun and tent camping with families and friends. For those who may not aware of it, Menzi Park is the home of the Summerfrolic attendees for almost a year now!

An entrance fee for P50, inclusive of parking and tent space and swimming. Rooms are available for an overnight stay. Camping sites and cottages are available for first-come-first served basis.

From the City Hall of Mati to Menzi Park
it will take you 18 mins

Our day of activities is not yet over, another attractions awaits us, the Subangan Museum.

A museum showcasing the history, culture, natural heritage and the progress that made develop the diversity of life of the people in the province called Davao Oriental.

A 53 feet long and weighing 20 metric tons (live weight)  huge skeleton of a sperm whale called DavOr will greet you upon entering the museum.

A 15 minutes ride from Menzi Park to Subangan Museum

Our tour inside the museum takes us for about 20 minutes.

We had our quick snack at the Seaside Restaurant and try their famous empanada.

From Seaside Restaurant we went to the Mindanao Saga Flying Club to see and experience their Ultra-light plane.

MSFC adjusted their rate last June 2016 and their rate from PHp1600 is now PHp2300 for 15 minutes only. And they no longer have trial flights.

We have our dinner and stayed the night at the Dahican Cove. It came out P4,000 per night (good for four).

This is where the guests can have their meals and lounging area.

    Day 2

I got to see the sunrise (that's why I sleep early) and excited to get up and watch the sun rises.

The sun rises at 5:30am, but I woke up too early at 4am - well it's fine to be outside just as the sun rises according to a friend, it is the hour after sunrise that is the best and gives the best photographic lights and I agree!

Take our breakfast and off we go to the prominent Pusan Point Science Discovery Center and Eco-Park located at Brgy. Santiago, Municipality of Caraga. A one hour and 30 minutes ride from Mati to Caraga.

"Where the sun shines first", the tagline adopted by Davao Oriental. A tourism landmark, where the "First Millennium Sunrise" took place.

A quick stop at Baganga Sunrise Boulevard.

And travel again going to Aliwagwag Falls Eco Park, Cateel, Davao Oriental.

    Entrance Fee: PHp50
Table Fee: PHp75 (you can bring your own food, no corkage)
Monkey Bridge Fee: PHp50 (admit one only)

We had our lunch here and stayed for 3 hours just to experience crossing a hanging bridge called the "MONKEY BRIDGE" in the middle of the magnificent falls.

Actually, I did not attempt to cross the bridge because of my fear of heights, the bridge crumbling under me or something that cause panic attacks (gephyrophobia)! Hahaha....

However, I still find this adventure very exciting because we are bridging Davao Oriental to the other side of the world, promoting it as the new capital of extreme adventure and fun and what some would say that --- to travel in Davao Oriental is to learn something new & useful that help shape a huge part of everyone's life.

It's a long road trips and it's truly a blast especially if you are travelling in a group.

Thanks so much Visit Davao Fun Sale for including #TeamDDI to be part of your Experience Davao Oriental #rocksummer adventure.
