One of my #lifegoals is to experience an island hopping in the Island Garden City of Samal (IGACoS).

Samal Island (IGACoS) is located in the Davao Gulf, about 700 meters south of Davao City. Samal Island is one of the seven municipalities of Davao del Norte, an archipelago of nine islands, surrounded with pristine beaches, dive sites and unexploited fauna and flora.

Finally, my dream to island hop Samal island comes to reality with Way Philippines, as they invite Davao Digital Influencers, Inc. to be part of their #milestones.

I'm a city girl from Davao and a beach bum, but due to busy schedules I put in at work I forget to give myself a break. Thanks to Way Philippines for inviting #TeamDDI for their summer getaway, now I can be relax away from the crowded and commercialized city and enjoy to explore the virginal island located at the back of the Samal Island which the locals called Talicud Island. For a day of beach bumming, you will surely love the well-kept secret of Davaoeños.

Talicud Island is relatively undiscovered and untouched though part of the island are inhabited by local communities, but still the beaches remain clean and pristine.

1st stop on the island hopping tour - CORAL GARDEN ISLAND.

Make sure you have your life vest with you when go snorkeling and swimming. Small versions of wave trains caused by a boat movement can make swells that will push you from drowning (if you don't know how to swim). This site is also good for diving and taking selfie!

A beautiful diving spots for scuba divers, wherein there's a lot of diversity of corals found in the sea if you use a diving mask and a google snorkel tube (which is available for rent, PHp100 for 1 hour).

Did you know that aside from a good spot for diving, it is also abundant with marine life. In fact, during the Department of Tourism welcomes divers for Davao Dive Fun Safari last year, Coral Garden Island is one of the spots foreigner divers went to and discover that this beach resort is a home of 53 out of 73 genre of corals and 9 species out of 13 species of sea grasses found in the Philippines, and a home to about 250 species of aquarium fish.

    ISLA CRISTINA BEACH RESORT

2nd stop is ISLA CRISTINA BEACH RESORT 2

Aside from Isla Reta, another beach resort you can visit is the Isla Cristina Beach Resort 2. The place is the same with Isla Reta, it gives you gorgeous view of the mainland Samal. A perfect beach to indulge yourself in a landscape cave and blues of the water. Its shoreline is great for camping, you can bring tent or hammock hang in between the trees and relax for awhile (network signal here is poor, so better bring books for reading) or if you are in a big group you can do team building games or have an open forum by staying in a rented boat.

    TO TRAVEL IS TO EAT!

WayPH also caters Group Package for your island hopping, that includes food where you can choose seafood and other meals for your lunch either grilled, steamed, shrimp, pancit bihon, guso(seaweed salad) or fried chicken and for the snacks like fudge brownies, chocolate brownies, biko plus softdrinks and beer.

You can have a sumptuous lunch with your family and friends at the boat. Or eat under the shades of the Talisay trees lined at the beachfront.

Passing by the famous Pearl Farm and the luxury beach resort in Malipano Island.

    PEARL FARM
    MALIPANO ISLAND

3rd stop and the last island/islet we visited is the breathtaking view of the WISHING ISLAND.

As the sun began's its journey to sink into the sea, we stop at the well-known islet near Malipano Island and Pearl Farm. The spot is not good for snorkeling & swimming because there's a lot sea urchins surrounding the islet. But if you love taking selfies, well this will be your nice place to jam with your cameras.

Here you can take a hike to a breathtaking 360 degree view of the island. What's truly fascinate me here is the man-made slide, how come there is a slide when the beach is made up of giant stones, rocks, corals and no sands!

I was very curious with the islet that I came to read this blog, Wishing Island of Samal. My questions are all answered about the man-made slides, the grotto, the abandoned kitchen and the very loud eery sounds I've heard below the stairs. Sounds creepy indeed!

    GOING HOME

After the 9 hours trip we have from different islands, I came home and received a great sense of fulfillment and satisfaction. Having a perfect job may sounds like a fantasy, but attaining one of my #lifegoals is the most amazing experience in my life that provide an important insights on how to lead a fulfilled life. Thanks to #TeamDDI for being there, you help me pierce the lens through deep meditation while we were sailing on the sea and to WayPH for taking good care of us.

Month of March is the busiest month of the year here in Davao City, aside from celebrating the 80th Araw ng Davao it's also the exciting week for the Davao City's Film Community as Man Overboard Production's LET'S GET SHORT! Events kick into gear on March 8, 9, and 11.

Ricardo "Ricky" Lee, the renowned scriptwriter, journalist, novelist and playwright who is celebrating his birthday this March, will be visiting Davao City after almost 20 years.

    INTERVIEW WITH RICKY

He will be giving a Scriptwriting Workshop at 3 different venues namely:

    1. HOLY CROSS OF DAVAO COLLEGE on the afternoon of March 8
    2. UNIVERSITY OF SOUTHERN PHILIPPINES on the morning of March 9
    3. FDCP CINEMATHEQUE DAVAO on March 9 from 4PM to 8PM

Man Overboard Productions Founder and Davao Filmmaker Jarell Mahinay Serencio had been dreaming about an event like this for Davao City. He participated in the first batch of Ricky Lee's Scriptwriting Workshop sponsored by ABS-CBN back in 2003.

Serencio went to Manila after graduating from the Holy Cross College of Davao with a degree in Mass Communications.

(My parents did not approve of my plan to work in Manila but I followed my dreams. Even when I was still studying, I already admired the films Ricky Lee's wrote. That's why when ABS-CBN announced they were looking for applicants for workshop, I grabbed the chance, I went to Manila armed with just a few pesos in my pocket but with high hopes that I can get inside the door of the industry I was dreaming to be part of.)

There were over 2,500 applicants who lined up on the ABS-CBN compound in Quezon City as early as 4am. They came from all over Metro Manila, and as far as Ilocos Norte in Luzon and cities in Visayas and Mindanao. Only 39 of them passed and were given a chance to be mentored by Lee, and Serencio was one of the 39.

Serencio credits Ricky Lee of his growth as a writer. Lee served as Creative Manager of "Sana'y Wala Nang Wakas" a soap opera starring Jericho Rosales and Khristine Hermosa. And Jarell Serencio is one of the contributing writers and that was where it all started.

"This kind of opportunity doesn't come along very often. If you are serious about honing your craft, then you should make a priority to attend this event. It might change your life. like it has changed me." ~Serencio added.

As of this writing, registration for the LET'S GET SHORT! Events at HCDC and USeP are now officialy closed.

But, for those who wish to join Ricky Lee's Workshop on March 9 at the FDCP Cinematheque Davao, you may register at Let's Get Short Film Screening Event Facebook Page as there are LIMITED slots available. You may register as an Individual or Group, School Org or Film Club.

Every year since 2014 I see to it that I have a planner for my blog to write my yearly activities in blogging.

In blogging, there are things that are totally crazy if you don't keep ideas, content, and checking of social media channeling. It's time consuming if you don't organize your plan.

When I started blogging I have different ways in scheduling my content. I use online resources such as Google calendar, tabs notes, notebooks and other personal stuff. Well, I guess a life of a blogger depends on what agenda he/she have either in work, school..it doesn't matter where you are as long as you have to put your ideas somewhere.

    MY PLANNER

Every year I make my personal journal:

    • My Blogging Planner 2016
    • DIY My Blogging Planner 2015 by the Hand Made Home and Mom.Mother.Teacher
    • DIY My Blogging Planner 2014 by The Blogging Garden
    • DIY My Blog Planner 2013 by Erica Made Designs

For this year, I personally use the The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf's Giving Journal 2017 given to me during the media launched of the CBTL Giving Journal Advocacy. It's a perfect blog planner, more than just a planner - it's a journal!

A PLANNER is a daily planner, or agenda, or whatever (there is no standard definition) this is where you put all your scheduled appointments, meetup, etc...while a JOURNAL is where you write your thoughts, experiences, feelings. And I love to combine this kind of an idea two into one book, though the ideas are distinct.

So thrilled to have this journal to use for 2017. It's pretty blank right now, I haven't written anything so far for the month of January but to get the gist of how it actually looks when you are starting writing -- you will see a ton of activities scrawled all over the pages.

    MONTHLY VIEW

This is where I keep track of my blog meetings, event invites & sponsored posts.

    WEEKLY VIEW

This is where I put my plan blog posts(topic/idea), write down which posts to go live on which day. Scheduled time for social media posting - Instagram, Twitter & Facebook.

    NOTES VIEW

It's more about my bills & payments.

As you can see, it's a little messy and I change things around, just to suit my preference! Weekly view sometimes becomes my monthly view since I haven't gotten the chance to plan
    anything in this journal!

    MONTH AT A GLANCE

A page wherein you put the top priorities you have for the month, your gratitude and goals, the dos and dont's and your learnings throughout the month.

Getting a good schedule is difficult, it puts me into a bit of a rigid box when scheduling a post. It's hard sometimes that it would confuse my planning scheme. This journal will helps me stay on track so that I could have a nice post ideas throughout the week and I can think what to write before posting it here on my blog site.

There is a saying: COMPROMISES ARE FOR RELATIONSHIP, not wine. If true, well this is especially true of wine on Valentine's Day.

Whether your going to spend love month by staying in with your love one's and need not to spend so much looking for a Tiffany in a jewelry store. I got here a good suave, unconventional but with reasonable price Non-Alcoholic 100% sparkling grape juice to suggest.

    MAY SPARKLING GRAPE JUICE

A high-quality product of Belgium and made of freshly pressed grapes, this bubbly treat is only 80 calories per serving and provides the fun fizz that instantly boosts any celebration.

There's no excuse to abstain some sort of sparkling wine unless you are passionate about the concrete global warming as to be constantly anxious over the carbon emissions of a couple of glasses of bubbles.

It's a great blend too! Mix it with variety of delicious drinks either alcoholic or non-alcoholic - that suit everyone's palate!

A beverage recipe to enjoy #YesToMay

Just to add some information here. to help you more about MAY Sparkling Grape Juice.
    • Its a product brand under Fly Ace Corporation. Responsible of bringing top quality products like WELCH'S, FRANZIA, JOLLY COW, JOLLY OIL. etc...
    • MAY Grape Juice can be enjoyed by everyone in the family regardless of age and dietary restrictions.
    • It is available in RED and WHITE Grape variants.
SRP for May Sparkling Red/ White Sparkling Juice 750ml
    SRP 166.00-170.00
*depending on store’s mark-up, range only

    • It has a great tool in opening the wine bottle, easy to use, lightweight, handy and safe, perfect for home and even children can open it without hurting their hands, a CORK TWISTED CAP

Usually, a wine bottles typically use only cork. Wherein you need a corkscrew to open it. MAY Sparkling Grape Juice had a twisted wire to open the bottle and wait for the cork to pop out! And if you've only drunk half a bottle of wine and you have leftover wines you can reseal it using the wired cap. For how long? Well, according to some of my readings, RED WINE lasted for only 2-3 days from when you opened the bottle.

In our case, because we are wine lovers, we generally consumed it the same day.  :)  So what are you waiting for? Share love this Valentine's Day with MAY Sparkling Grape Juice....

Mosquitoes are not the only insects that carry diseases, bacteria, and viruses, because there are a lot of other insects that can do harm to the environment and our health. Flies and cockroaches can be as harmful just like with the mosquitoes - they can spread different diseases just by existing; even the slightest contact can be fatal.

    Mosquitoes can carry:

    Zika
    Dengue
    Malaria
    Chikunggunya

    Flies can carry:

    Salmonella
    E.Coli
    Tuberculosis
    Malaria
    Typhoid
    Cholera

    Cockroaches can carry:

    Diarrhea
    Dysentery
    Cholera
    Leprosy
    Plague
    Typhoid Fever

In order to avoid all these, environmental management and chemical control must be taken into account.

For Environmental Management: observing good cleanliness and proper hygiene. Doing these, mosquitoes, flies and cockroaches can be kept at bay.

Also, by using powerful and effective insecticides, these pests can easily be controlled and avoided.
