The metro's premier shopping and lifestyle destination - SM LANANG PREMIER - commemorate the Mid-Autumn Festival from September 10 to 25, 2016, by hosting the largest exhibition of Chinese visual arts at the mall Atrium.

It is an exhibit of Chinese and Western Paintings by the Chan Lim Family of Artists and Students, showcasing over 300 artworks exquisitely done in Chinese Scrolls, Lanterns and Oil Paintings.

And the newest visual attractions that they have is the set of the 3D Koi artworks on porcelain plates.

Prior to the launch, a press-con was held at Park-Inn by Radisson Davao headed by Ms. Acey Puno-Reyes (PR Manager-SM Lanang), wherein Media and Influencers got the chance to interview and experience on-the-spot painting workshop on how to make a Chinese art work together with the help of Chan Lims' children and students.

We are given the chance to see the difference between a Chinese Work of Art and a Western Art Paintings.

Each are given art work materials for our first Chinese artwork.

Not bad for a newbie

This is the fourth time that SM Lanang Premier has partnered with the Chan Lim Family in promoting an exhibit of such a massive scale since 2012.

Holding such an event like this help build the foundation of Chinese-Filipino communities.

Last September 9, for the first time in Davao an On-the-Spot Painting Contest attended by grades 3 to 12 students together with their families and friends held at the Mall Atrium. There are 70 entries competed and winners receive SM Gift Certificates. These are co-presented by the Davao Filipino-Chinese Cultural Association, Dynamic Youth, Inc., and Park Inn by Radisson Davao.

The Chan Lim Family is one of the few remaining notable Chinese brush painting artists in the country today. Led by it's patriarch, Chan Lim.

And together with his sons Alex, Felix, Rolex and Jolex. They already conducted numerous paintings exhibits and seminars, art workshops and on-the-spot painting demonstrations for more than four decades. To date, the family has staged 13 family painting exhibits and its paintings can be found in private collections here and abroad.

I've been blogging full-time since 2010. Before that I am a Medical Receptionist in Fatima Medical Center, Marulas, Valenzuela City and I ran my family business as the owner/manager.

Have you heard anything about me? Well, I guess so, not bragging myself here, the time FACEBOOK went viral here in the Philippines and there's no Facebook page for information/services about Davao - I volunteered to manage to become the online information, from DLPC no-light to DCWD no water schedules.

My post get tons of praise every time I do social information that people share on and reaches some important people, added factor that I become one of the admin of the viral Facebook Group Page, "Dabawenyo Ka Kung" that made me more influential in terms of INFORMATION and SOURCE.

But I sincerely think blogging is much tougher. Now, that I am a WHAM (work-at-home-mom) there's so much amazing benefits I have discovered through blogging. When I start to write on and joining a few blogging communities, and become one of the admin of Filipino Bloggers Worldwide and Bloggers Worldwide, I thought hard on how to best express the value of hanging out with the people who think like I do as a writer. Only problem is that, most of the members of this group lived in different parts of the Philippines and some living abroad. The only way we communicate with each other is thru Facebook Messenger and/or Facebook Group Page itself.

I started to look for a group that surround groups of people that base here in Davao, well I have seen one but as they say again, "too many cooks, spoil the broth".

So I haven't get any, but positively thinking of finding a good one!

Finally, after a cup of coffee and a little chit chat from a friend, I remembered a saying, "We need leaders who will stand up for the little guy and listen once again".

This is what I like, as a writer/blogger we are diligence with our work, taking our activity with quickness and earnestness, and in my case anyway, respect and sincerity is what we want in return.

Why I am so excited to be part of the Davao Digital Influencers, Inc.? When you're part of a blogging community or a social media group, you belong to a village that help raise awareness not just by writing alone, but also in developing sense of responsibility wherein you are there to - ENGAGE, INFLUENCE and MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

Being a host of people who helps a child development, coaches the society and in charge of responsible social media.

SUPPORT - Now that I am close to the people who think like I do, I have people who I can turn for suggestions on ways to improve my works and writing skills. Who can offer perspective and support with encouragement and love. Though with honest critiques and helpful suggestion which I am open with, a non-competitive and don't have the fear of being judge. A group to grow with.

FRIENDSHIP - Taking advantage to meet talented people. At first, the thinking of awkwardness I don't know them at all, or shall I say, I meet them casually, but the sense of belongingness is already there. By chatting with them and going with them makes me more excited knowing them as a person. Talking with them makes me realize that I am EXACTLY AT THE RIGHT PLACE! Realizing the common that we have is that, we are all INFLUENCERS.

All of these I expect to happen this September 3 at Polo Bistro, Marco Polo Davao.

Official Opening of Kadayawan 2016

A welcome address was delivered by Arturo "Art" Boncato Jr., former assistant secretary of the Department of Tourism and now the Co-Chairman of Kadayawan Execom.

And in behalf of Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio, a speech was given by the 3rd District Councilor Avegayle "Didoy" Dalodo-Ortiz Omalza, who formally opened the Kadayawan 2016 together with the 11 tribes representatives.

It is not included in my plan to witness the Tribuhanong Pasundayag or Cultural Show, but out of curiosity, I was there to watch the different showdown of chosen tribes (assigned for the 1st night program) and other contingents.

By the way, the Tribuhanong Pasundayag were divided into 4 nights program and it is not a competition but showcasing Tribal arts and entertainment .

I witness the richness of Lumad and Muslim culture and these are some of the photos I have taken.
