Davao continues to be part of the conversation when it comes to digital innovation, financial inclusion, and opportunities for Filipinos. This was highlighted during the GCash Regional Media Connect, held on September 30, 2026, at Mr. and Mrs. B in Davao City.

The event brought together Davao’s media practitioners, bloggers, and content creators for an afternoon of conversations, updates, and learning with the GCash team.

Organized by PR Works, led by Ms. Doris Mongaya, the gathering provided an avenue for the local media and digital creator community to learn more about GCash’s initiatives and how digital financial solutions continue to create opportunities for Filipinos.

GStock: One of the Main Highlights

One of the major highlights of the Regional Media Connect was the discussion about GStock, presented by Michelle Fernandez, GCash Vice President for Corporate Sustainability and Communications.

The discussion gave attendees an opportunity to learn more about GStock and its role within GCash’s growing financial ecosystem.

For media practitioners, bloggers, and content creators, learning about financial tools and investment-related opportunities is particularly relevant. It gives us the chance to become more financially informed and, in turn, share useful information with our own communities.

The discussion also showed how digital platforms continue to bring financial services and opportunities closer to Filipinos through technology.

Digital Progress Built for Every Davaoeño

Following the discussion on GStock, another important part of the event was “Digital Progress Built for Every Davaoeño,” shared by Ms. Faye Carmel Remolar Fernandez, GCash Regional Head for Mindanao Enterprise and MSME.

The discussion focused on the importance of making digital progress relevant and accessible to the people of Davao, including local entrepreneurs, businesses, and MSMEs.

For a city with a vibrant business and entrepreneurial community, digitalization continues to play an important role in how people conduct transactions, connect with customers, manage businesses, and explore new opportunities.

The message of digital progress built for every Davaoeño makes the conversation particularly meaningful here in Davao. Progress in the digital space is not simply about technology—it is also about making sure that people and businesses can participate in an increasingly digital economy.

Connecting GCash With Davao's Media and Creators

The Regional Media Connect also served as an opportunity for GCash to connect personally with Davao’s media, bloggers, and content creators.

As content creators, we often serve as a bridge between brands and our communities. Events like this allow us to hear directly from companies, ask questions, learn about their programs, and share relevant information with our audiences.

The gathering was also a chance to connect with fellow members of Davao’s growing media and digital creator community, exchange ideas, and discover opportunities for collaboration.

Bringing the Conversation Closer to Davao

Bringing the GCash Regional Media Connect to Davao created an opportunity for the local media and creator community to become part of conversations surrounding financial services, digital innovation, and opportunities for Filipinos.

From GStock to the message of Digital Progress Built for Every Davaoeño, the event gave attendees new insights into how digital solutions continue to evolve and become part of everyday life.

It was a productive and informative gathering—one that allowed us to learn, connect, and better understand the initiatives being shared by GCash.

A big thank you to GCash, Ms. Michelle Fernandez, and Ms. Faye Carmel Remolar Fernandez for sharing their insights with Davao’s media and creator community.

And of course, thank you to PR Works, led by Ms. Doris Mongaya, for organizing this meaningful gathering and bringing GCash closer to Davao.

For us Davaoeños, it is always meaningful when conversations about innovation, opportunities, and progress reach our own community. The September 30 gathering was another opportunity to learn, connect, and be part of that continuing digital journey.
