First Monday of December is Mother's Day and Father's Day Proclamation No. 58

We celebrate Mother's Day every 12th of May and on the 16th of June we celebrate Father's Day. Father's Day was created to complement Mother's Day.

In the Philippines to honor both two important people in our life we celebrate it together by the Proclamation No. 58, s.1998 signed and proclaimed by our Former President Joseph Ejercito Estrada.

This is to declare that MARRIAGE as an inviolable social institution, the foundation of the family and it shall be protected by the state.

A holiday that recognizes the works of both parents concerns the uplifting and supporting in the rearing of the children. In respect with partners who are separated, this holiday should be given much emphasized the parental roles, an observance more consistent of minimizing traditional sex-biased and differences of both characters.

Regardless of whether you were married or in common-law relationship... married or not, if you have children to care it is your obligation to support your children financially and emotionally.

That is the essence of a MOTHER and a FATHER.

HAPPY MOTHER'S AND FATHER'S DAY
TO ALL!!!!!

  6. If these days are proclaimed as holidays then moms and dads should have rest from work. :) For so long my sister has been asking why is there no children's day? Or is there?

  8. Fathers and Mothers must be happy with this celebration. I am glad I am able to read this post. Thought our former president Estrada didn't care about marriage.
