I HATE CD-R KING

Sometimes life is so frustrating.  You're irritated-angry at the same time you want to shake your body out of demeanor.  It started when I purchased one CD-R KING H-SERIES USB KEYBOARD yesterday, and when I got home and tried the item with my unit, it didn't work at all.




Since it didn't work, I presumed in my part it is considered "DAMAGED".  The idea was to return the product since I have one week warranty with the item I bought.

I am familiar with the DTI RETURNED and EXCHANGE POLICY, been working as a CASHIER and I know about the rules to be made about the said returned item.  And considering the REPUBLIC ACT NO. 7394 or the CONSUMERS ACT of the PHILIPPINES, customers have the right to return an item which to her/him defective or damaged.

I know for a fact that buying products at CD-R KING is a waste of money and time, but as their regular customers I still consider them a good store, selling items for a cheaper price. I bought the keyboard for only PHp160, so cheap that you can save money out of your budget.


Official Receipt is the best proof of purchase,
so better keep the receipt.

At the back of the CD-R KING receipt, it was  clearly written there about their WARRANTY TERMS AND CONDITIONS.  It stated that I have 1 WEEK FREE SERVICE WARRANTY.  So with confident I use that conditions.  I went there brought the ORIGINAL RECEIPT as my proof, unit has no physical damage(but it doesn't work), warranty sticker is still there with the complete packaging and content.

Went to see the Branch Head, she entertain me regarding my problem.  Answer all my queries.  That's good.  I know the scenario, been there.  

One thing I can't accept with her answers are these: 


  1. I can't return the said item because it is not damaged and not defective to them.
  2. I cannot ask for upgrade or ask for an exchange to a different item.


Thanks so much for your kind accommodation, Ms. GINA TAGUBA(CD-R KING BRANCH HEAD Gaisano Mall-Davao).  But it is clearly stated at the back of your receipt, that if in any case the exchanged item is not available you can OPT to exchange to a different item.

And it is also clear that the item I bought is not working with me, I was asking for a replacement or need to pay more than the item I bought just to make me satisfied with what I buy from your store.  But you refuses my right as a customer.  And I really hate your
answer.

It is not the customers fault if the CD-R KING MANAGEMENT charge it to you, it is the RIGHT OF THE CUSTOMER to DEMAND for a GOODS that has a SATISFACTORILY CONDITION, DEFECT FREE and FIT FOR THE PURPOSE they were intended right when they received the item.


Ms. Taguba, better read DTI RETURN and EXCHANGE POLICY.


12.   Can a store impose the condition that merchandise can only be exchanged once?  

No, because merchandise can be exchanged as many times, as long as the consumer choose the option of replacement.

3. What kind of defects of the item sold shall make the vendor or seller liable? 

If the defects should render the item sold totally unfit for the use for which it is intended, the seller or the vendor shall be liable for such defects. Second, if the defect should diminish or decrease its fitness or its use to the extent that if the buyer was aware of such defect he would not have bought the product or would have demanded a lower price for it. 

In my dismay, I got home carrying the same item I bought from them yesterday, June 25. 

Sad to say, our conversation ended abruptly.
It is really hard time expecting for a reasonable answer from them. Just leaving me unattended as I waited and waited for their actions.

I know how it feels facing and attending all the customers complain.  But in facing all this you need to have a broad idea about what you are saying, not that you will leave your customers behind, and not giving them a solution.


SALES is not your profession and be not your priority.  CUSTOMERS are your LIFE, your VALUE.  

You are there to serve your customer by not letting them down.

  1. I hate cdr king sometimes because i feel like they do not prioritize their customers very much. However you do not have to judge immediately , it's just that you are not talking to the right person. Sales lady/person most often do not know the solution to your problem, i suggest you should be talking to the technician which may be able to understand the issue.

    1st as a techie guy in my understanding, there might be some compatibility issue with your computer, before buying anything from cdr king ALWAYS...ALWAYS...READ!!! check the "requirements" wether it'be compatible to windows7 or 8 or XP, etc.

    2nd if it's working on their side and not working on yours their might be an issue on your computer. Try borrowing a working usb keyboard and insert it in the same slot, if this doesn't work still, your "USB PORT" is "DEFECTIVE".

    3rd try other USB SLOTS in your computer which are available. If there are no available slots, you may try pulling other gadgets inserted to your usb ports(i.e mouse) and insert the keyboard.

    JUST TRY! don't waste your time going back to CDR king if you haven't tried these yet.

    1. I already tried it. My technician was the one who handle the techie things here in my net shop. All of my port are new and upgraded. I talk with their technician same issue, lahat ng sinabi mo ginawa mismo ng technician ko dito. Ganun parin, so in my case defective sya on my part.

    2. guys i really need ur help. can somebody please send me the contact info of cdr king head office. i need to complain about a very poor customer service in cdr king pasay. i just cant get over it. they made me wait for several minutes looking for the code of a certain product. they already know the price. they did not even bother to tell me whats going on. its was me who asked why it was taking so long. all the sales clerk were on the same place. while a lot of customers were already on the counter waiting for someone to assist them. there was this girl i approached her but she said i need to look for the other clerk. when i asked if there was other stock for the product that im planning to buy, she said no but when I checked there is still one above the cabinet. i appreciate ur help pls send it to 09084362654

  2. halaaa! dapat i-replace man jud na if ever wa na siya nagawork and besides, pasok pa man siya sa 1 week warranty. Kailangan jud diay naay damage para lang mailisan? Pagkabuang nalang ana..

    If I were her, take the action immediately and exchange for a new keyboard. Kung mag ing-ana pa na sila sa imo, hay naku, manirado nalang sila.. Not a good service..

  3. thats why buy cheap but good quality keyboard ex. genius(heavy use/light use) 200, a4tech(light use 185-200) intex(180-200) deluxe (180-200) ^_^ this keyboards usually use in internetshop

  8. Well, this happened to me in CD-R King. I bought a wrong item.At that same day, in a different store, my hubby bought the one we really needed.So went to the store and informed them that it needs replacement since it's the wrong one. Suggested a higher price with a different item. The attendant told me that it's not possible. So I don't normally settle to talk with attendants with this so I asked for their supervisor or manager. Then a lady approached me and asked the same question. I patiently informed her my concern. Then same thing, she informed me it's not possible. I just went ahead telling her I need to talk to a ,manager to remind them of the rights of the consumer, that what they do is not right. I even informed them that will be glad to inform and report them to the DTI. Then the lady talked to someone on the cellphone. I even told her I want to have a word with whoever was on the phone. Then to make this short, my item was replaced :-) In exerting one's rights, never give up especially you know your rights. I won't let them or any one trample my rights or abuse it. Imagine, they created items that have a "life span", meaning that won't last. I know they created according to what one can afford or according to budget. But if you are gonna think about, they do that not because for the public to take advantage or help but to have a repeat sale. That's it. Pfftt!

I'm not really a regular customer of CD-R King, but I think I was able to buy two items from them that up to now are still working, but like you, if I bought an item from them that I can't use, they should at least help me find a solution to my problem. That's the least they can do if they won't be replacing the item.

  11. I just bought a wireless mouse for my new laptop din. And the mouse is not working properly with my laptop. I owned a logitech wireless keyboard and mouse and the thing is working fine with it. So nagpunta din ako ask for an item exchange and we have the same sentiments.

    Eto lang masasabi nila sayo. Pag yung gamit nila na pinakitang gumana in front of you at okay siya, wala na silang masasabi they just give what you buy. Pero pag sinabi mong it's not working with your end wala silang PAKE sayo. Kaya frustrated customer din ako. Wala sila talagang kwenta kaya nga mura ung gamit nila. Pag binili mo binili mo na wala ng balikan. :))))))

    Sarap nila ireklamo dapat yata dalhin mo ung laptop or computer na paggagamitan mo para lang maniwala sila. The hell with them!

  14. Most often than not,their service is way too SLOW,the staff are so UNFRIENDLY and most of them doesn't even know a thing about the product they sell.and these applies to many,as in MANY branches of CD R king,as in KING of Fake products from China!!!!

I'm done with CDrking.. been buying a keyboard from them, ung manipis na parang pang mac but would always end up buying every 3 months.. hindi na din sulit.. mura nga pero haller! madali naman masira.. nag compute ako.. the price of the keyboard na binibili ko is 350 (x 4 since nagpapalit ako every 3 months) so I was spending 1400 for keyboard every year! not to mention the hassle tuwing masisira ang keyboard ko.. kaines.. so I bought a good one na (A4tech brand) and been using it for months na at super satisfied ako.. from then on, I said goodbye to cdrking

  17. same here! now im using their 150 pesos keyboard and now typimg this slow becoz it is slow respondig to every key u type. i tried going back to cdrkngbut same wit h you they didnt replced this sick keyboard. grabe.di nman daw defectve kse mbilis sa computer nila nung tini- test. i also tried other usb slots, ayaw tlaga! b4 this keyboard, ok nman yung cdrking multimedia kboard nila.tumagal din ng 2 years.ewan ko bkt palpak na ngayon.last day na tmrw ng warranty. hay buhay..

  20. Mabuti yung damage na yan is only minimal. I bought a UPS from them at P1500+. In a week's time nag-o-off mag-isa. Pambihira, kaya ka nga bumili eh para pag nag-brownout may time ka pa to save your work. Pero eto walang brownout, siya un nag-o-off mag-isa. I went and told them my problem. They acknowledged the problem got the unit at pa-se-service-an daw since lumampas ng one week. I asked kelan ko makukuha. Hindi raw nila alam, usually daw inaabot ng 1 buwan at the max. I-te-txt daw ako kung okay na. I went there after two weeks. wala pa raw. then sinadya ko mag palipas ng isang buwan. pagbalik ko the other day wala pa rin. nag init na tenga ko, i asked the number of their main office or anyone i could talk to, wala raw number. pinababalik ako after two weeks. pambihirang patis. kung lalaki cguro kausap ko naumbag ko na. im planning to bring the matter sa dti kung pagbalik ko eh wala pa rin. like everyone here, im done with cdr king for sure. marami na rin akong nabili from them and none is working after 3 months, sira na lahat.

  21. Don't buy anything with cd-r king brand that requires plugging into an outlet or a port. Instead, only buy accessories such as laptop desks, screen protector, gadget cases, or products from trusted brands that they also sell (flash disks for example, have many brands) from their stores. You will rarely get a good-quality cd-r king product. Their products are generic China-made items which they put their name into and warrants them so they'll look both cheap and authentic, while they are also of low quality.

    Be wise with your money. I'm not saying not to buy from them, but rather know what to buy from their stores. Buy something where you will most likely not want to use the so-called warranty and waste your time.

  22. There are three major problems with CDR King:

    1) Everything CDR King branded is the lowest of quality - You should never buy something from CDR King that is electronic or has moving parts that you expect to use frequently and long term. Nothing CDR King sells lasts long. If it lasts longer than six months, consider yourself extremely lucky.

    2) Girls know nothing about computers and electronics - CDR Kings are always run by girls. Sure girls are expert texters and gossipers, but they know nothing about the products they sell at CDR King. 99 times out of 100, if you ask a girl at CDR King a computer or electronics question, she will not know the answer or even know what you are talking about and have to go ask another girl who will not know the answer either. These stores should be operated by guys.

    3) Everything is out of reach - Since the CDR King girls know nothing about anything at CDR King, you have to ask to be handed everything and analyze it yourself. It would be much better if CDR King had a store where you didn't have to wait in line to be served and could pick things up and look at them yourself without having to ask the girl to remove item after item to see if it's what you need. This is an inefficiency more than anything. This store could be much more profitable if it wasn't so poorly thought out...same as most stores in the Philippines. Inefficient (and poor inventory management).

    One useful tip that has made my life easier with this store, is always make sure you go to the website (cdrking.com) and find what you need before going into the stores. Make sure to have the part number and item name (or preferrably a print out of the item) when going there.

It is the management's fault for not hiring competent people to do the job. You're also blind to not see that the person who owns this blog is a woman and there are women commenting here.

    i never buy electronic products from their store anymore knowing how they make it. i only purchase items that are useful-consumable. its only a pain in my ass knowing that most of their electronic gadgets only last for only few months, worst case only for 2 months. i do not know how they train their personal but as for my experience with them, every store has only 1 guy technician who know almost everything of their product. well of course its hard for the sales ladies to accommodate many customers having only 1 know-all technician. so i say their services is not as good as any other computer stores. can you imagine them making their own mobile phones, tabs? and the best of all their own DSLR cameras.. how come? well they also have their own laptop which was pretty bad for a quality, this was base on my experience when i repaired 1 of it since it was out of warranty.

    what am i pointing? i do not hate CD-R King but i do not like their products.

Nakabili po ako ng power bank noong 5/9/14 ok sia nung una wen i charger it hnde na gumagana so i wen back to sm lanang cdrking nung una ayaw nila epareplace yun nalaman nila taga Zambonga city po they replace it.. nagbakasion lng po ko d2 sa davao cit maybe natakot cla kc puro gera lng dun eh. :D

  27. I think the return policy sa CD-R king ay nag-change na talaga kasi I have 4GB micro sd card and it was working only for 5 months. The device was corrupted and since I still have the receipt and it indicates that the 4GB Micro SD has a 6-months warranty, I decided to have it checked and they replaced it without any further questions, since it is really not working. After that, since I need a larger Micro SD memory for my smartphone, I decided to purchased an 8GB Micro SD (which has the same brand with my 4GB). However, the device didn't really work since it will automatically delete my files at buti nlang may back-up ako sa mga files. So i decided to go back to the store with the receipt and told them about my concern. Since the device was working on their end, they informed me to observe first since it already exceeded the 1-week replacement (although it has 6months warranty).

    So, here it goes, I went to a different branch because they informed me that they don't have already the same model of the micro sd that I purchased on their branch. When I went on the different branch, the Lady technician checked the device and it was really obvious that it is defective since she can't reformat it and do anything. Then, she informed me that they will have it repaired on their end for 1 month, which is ridiculous! And when I ask a question she answered me in a sarcastic manner. How come she can do that in front to her customer.
    I'm also a technical support representative over the phone and I know how to empathize to the customer when there's a product issue, but the lady technician didn't even knew what customer service is. Also now, it's been 1 month and 1 week, they still don't have the device and I haven't received any SMS. :(

  29. Pal Rain you can switch into a wireless keyboard if you are having a difficult time using the normal one. The main advantage of using a wireless keyboard rather than a regular keyboard is that it offers much more mobility. I bought my wireless keyboard at goods. ph a year ago, its brand is Logitech and I'm very satisfied about its performance and portability. Sometimes youu need to rely into a trustful brand for a better quality.

Their staff have zero idea on customer service, just try buying a faulty inverter from them and see how much of a run around you will get! disgusting company.

  31. We bought A 3,000 peso CCTV from them before. This was when CCTVs are still quite new in the market. It was not compatible with the wifi provider. We were never able to return it. :( Less than two weeks ago, I purchased a TDK flash disk 16gb which I gave as a gift to my hubby (as he requested). I also bought an Imation flash disk which was working fine. Hubby asked me to return the TDK because it cannot save files. I went to the store today and was told the technician is on break. And that these things cannot be replaced but will be sent to their head office.

  32. Ugh omg bumili din ako ng usb flash disk sknla. The day i bought the item, tinest nila ok naman. Paguwi ko pag nag copy ako ng Movies or music or pictures or docs nagiging shortcut link sya. Pero wla virus pc ko. Dahil working ung other usb ko even external hard disk ko ok naman. Then yesterday (2nd day) binalik ko sa cdrking puregold pritil, tinest ulit ng brach manager(ung nka blue uniform) ni reformat nya ok na daw. Then i asked their contact no. pra incase paguwi at same prob mdali ko mssbi. Then nung paguwi ko same problem p din. So tinawag ko at snbi na ganun nga problem ang sagot nya pumunta daw ako ng tutuban center kausapin ko daw ung tech nila un daw mag eexplain skn. Putragis ang hassle nyo :/ sbi ko pwd replace nyo n lng new item or other item na mas ok kht mag dagdag n lng ako ng bayad. Sagot nya "ndi ho pwd kc wla nmn defect samin eh." eh punyeta ano ggwin ko s usb nyo? Iddisplay ko??? Am so pissed off talagaaa!!!! Kaya napa search ako kung ano magnda gawin. At dito ako napadpad s blog na to.

  34. Unlike most of the comments here, I'm very glad I experienced a good service from CD-R King SM Dasma branch, in terms of their return/exchange policy. You can read the full story here: READ HERE

    I have been a regular buyer of cdr king products - flash drives, keyboard, usb hub, mouse, powerbank, phone cases, etc. Some of these still works up to this date. I don't know if I'm just lucky enough to get good stocks or it's just that I don't expect much from their products; I don't really expect them to last kasi. But in terms of service... I do hear different stories about how bad the customer service in other branches are and I do hope CD-R King takes action to improve it.

    Because if they don't, no matter how cheap their products are, they will be losing great customers.

HELLO..Same problem here..kbibili lng ng father ko 16gb sd card knina..1st time niang bumili sa cdr-king..pero nung 3nay ko ng gmitin sa tab ko..wla ee..ayaw tumanggap ng khit anung files..hndi rin mabasa..kahit nireformat ko naxa..hayss wala parin..290 pa nman un..aukong msayang lng ung pera..kea try nmin ipapalit tom.after work..naku kung gnyan ang mranasan kong service gaya ng sainyo..no doubt..irereklamo ko na tlgaa kai tatay Digong..ng magkaalaman na..hehe..
